Last updated : 06 December 2006 By Andy Van Hagen
Steve Claridge could make his 1000th professional appearance on Saturday if he joins Bournemouth.

Claridge, now 40 is expected to sign a one month pay as you play deal, and should be in place to play in their league fixture against Port Vale on Saturday.  Although he told Radio Solent he won't be confirming anything until Friday.

It will be full circle for Claridge who began his career with Bournemouth 21 years ago. Since then he has made 999 appearances for 18 different clubs.

His 999th appearance was Walsall's 1-0 win over Gillingham last April. When Richard Money was named manager Claridge was released so Money could evaluate his options for this season.
