Bossu offered short term contract

Last updated : 23 October 2009 By Andy Van Hagen
Ex-Walsall goalie Bertrand Bossu has been offered a contract by Crewe, despite conceeding five in a midweek reserve outing Vs Birmingham City.

Bossu has been offered a 2 month contract where he will compete with Spurs loanee David Button. Dario Gradi who is caretaker manager for 'Alex' thinks the team need a keeper of their own.

Speaking to his club's official website he said:

"Bertrand is the biggest keeper I have seen for a long while, and he has come here on trial and done very well in training.

"He is an experienced goalkeeper, although he doesn't have a great record of games, but that is something we will not take long to deal with.

"If he chooses to join us and does well, we will sign him longer in January, but we're not sure at the moment whether he will be above or below David Button."

At 6'7" he certainly is a big keeper but since arriving in the UK from Calais, Bossu has always played back up to established first team keepers. It was only at Hayes and Yeading where he could get regular starts under his belt.

While at Walsall in his only appearance for the club he kept a clean sheet in our 0-0 draw with Chester City.
