Barrowman has 'season to forget'

Last updated : 09 May 2009 By Andy Van Hagen

This season has been one which former Walsall forward Andy Barrowman, has said he'd be keen to forget.

After his Walsall nightmare he returned to Scotland with Kilmarnock, where he was loaned out twice to Queen of the South. Last term he scored 29 goals for Ross County which secured him a move back to the Scottish Premier with Inverness Caledonial Thistle. Unfortunately the 24-year-old has failed to live up to expectations during his first season at the Caledonian Stadium, having only found the net on just two occasions.

Barrowman made a promising start to his Caley Thistle career when he netted in the first game of the season as the Highland club defeated Aberdeen at Pittodrie - the first time the Inverness side had managed a win over the Dons.

But just one more goal followed - in a home win against his old club Kilmarnock last September.

He was often deployed as a lone forward by former manager Craig Brewster and, after starting in Terry Butcher's first game in charge, suffered a knee injury which kept him out for nearly two months.

Barrowman is refusing to let his head drop and is saying it has made him even more determined to get amongst the goals next season and prove to be a success for Cally Thistle.
