Barlow has been out of the game since leaving Nottingham Forest after they appointed Colin Calderwood. Barlow had performed heroics with co manager Ian McPartland at Forest in their 13 game reign. The pair guided Nottingham Forest from only foyr points above the relegation zone to missing out on a play-off spot by drawing at Bradford on the final day of last season, a remarkable turnaround of fortunes.
Now he and Wetherall have been given the brief of saving Bradfords season. Barlow told Bradford's Telegraph and Argus:
"There is some similarity between the two and the only difference is that I had already worked at Forest. I've got a lot of catching up to do here and quickly.
But you tend to find that this league is fairly congested, particularly among that middle section. Lose a couple of games and you're quickly drawn in - win them and it's suddenly an awfully different picture."
Wetherall introduced Barlow to the players by saying it would be easier to name the club's he HASN'T represented during his 40 years in the game as a player, coach or manager.
Barlow was linked with a return to Walsall following the departure of Mark Kinsella to Charlton Athletic, but manager Richard Money decided not to bring any new influences into the club mid-way through the season
