Wise to miss opening weeks of season

Swindon boss Dennis Wise has said he will not be fit enough to play in the first few matches of the season. Wise indicates that the reason is down to there being so much other work to do around the club. This has meant he has not had the time to train as normal.

Rather than play unfit, Wise will wait until his fitness warrents a place in the starting line up. Therefore giving him time to assess the team from the sidelines and give other midfielders a chance to shine.

Wise told BBC Radio Swindon: "There was so much that we needed to do, and we wanted to go through so much with the players that you can't train properly. It's impossible to be fit although I've joined in a couple of sessions, but for me it's nowhere near enough. I probably need about two weeks worth of good work, and then I'll be ready."
