Wijnhard in training with League Two rivals

Last updated : 05 September 2006 By Andy Van Hagen
Chester City boss Mark Wright has invited striker Clyde Wijnhard to train at the club.

Wijnhard who is now 32 is a free agent after leaving Macclesfield Town at the end of last season. He spent the summer back in Holland looking at the options available to him but has now returned to find an English club.

Clyde who has previously played for Leeds United and Huddersfield Town amongst others, played for Walsall reserves verses Birmingham City last Tuesday. He managed to make his mark by opening the scoring but it now seems he is looking to secure a deal elsewhere.

Chester's manager Wright told his club's website: "Clyde is a proven goal-scorer who has an excellent goals per game ratio.

"We knew he was available so we will have a look at him in training and obviously he will have a look at us."
