Northampton and Grimsby Town both named their new managers on Monday. Northampton appointed John Gorman and Grimsby announced Graham Roger.

Gorman, Wycombe manager last season guided his team to a terrific 21-game unbeaten league run. At the end of the campaign he was released from his contract following leave enforced by his wife's passing. Wycombe lost out to Cheltenham Town in the Play-off semi-final and their board
decided a clean break was needed so planning for next season could commence. Gorman maintained he was ready to return to work and was dissapointed about his release. Northampton swooped for their man a week later despite Gorman not being in the country, he beat off competition from John Deehan for the position.

Graham Rodger has been promoted from his position as assistant boss at Blundell Park following the departure of Russell Slade last week, following Grimsby's play-off final defeat against Cheltenham Town. Roger has worked under previous managers Paul Groves, Nicky Law and Russell Slade, he has also been caretaker manager twice. At his appointment the Grimsby chairman said "We have made it clear to our new manager, there will be financial support to mount a serious challenge for the next campaign".
