Torquay United have named former Czech international defender Lubos Kubik as their new manager. Kubik played in the 1990 World Cup with Czechoslovakia and also took part in the 1996 European Championships for the Czech Republic. His club career included Slavia Prague, Fiorentina, Metz, Nuremburg and Chicago Fire.
Torquay chairman Chris Roberts has appointed his 'friend' to try and guide Torquay away from the bottom of League Two. Torquay currently occupy 22nd position and are ahead of Boston United by only one point. Ian Atkins is expected to move to a Director of Football position at the club.
