The History's Against Leeds

Last updated : 06 August 2007 By Andy Van Hagen
History is against Leeds overcoming the 15-point deduction.

After having 15 points deducted by the Football League
history shows, it can have a lasting effect.

Previous points deductions;

Wrexham (04/05)

Administration, 10 points.

Wrexham were relegated from League One, 8 points from safety .They have remained in League Two since and have struggled.

Rotherham (06/07)

Administration. 10 points.

Starting the season on -10 points proved too much for the Millers. Early season form was good but after getting into positive points the deficit was just too much to catch up. They were 13 points from the safety zone.

Boston (06/07).

Administration. 10 points.

Boston lost their crucial relegation battle with Wrexham at the end of last season. After the game the club went into administration a to avoid starting next season in the minuses. A double demotion failed as they were rejected entry to the Conference.

Leeds (06/07 and now 07/08).

Administration. 10 points.

Leeds went into administration in an attempt to avoid a deduction for their first season in League One. And now the additional 15-point deduction should ensure the club will not gain promotion back to the Championship. In fact they are likely to be looking towards the bottom rather than the top.
