Preston North End have completed the signing of Peterborough United defender Sean St Ledger, for an initial fee of £225,000, with add-ons that could see the fee rise to £350,000
.

St Ledger recently had a spell training with Birmingham City where he played 45 minutes of a behind-closed-doors friendly at Northampton for City on Wednesday.

New Preston manager Simpson told his club's official site: "When we found out Birmingham were interested in doing a deal, we decided to act quicky and get in there before we lost him. He's a Birmingham lad, but it speaks volumes for the attitude he's got that he felt Preston was the right place for him to be."
