The midfielder who has turned 40 said he would only play under ex-manager John Gorman next season. Despite Gorman leaving, Lee showed an initial willingness to wait until a successor was named before making his final decision.
The Managing Director added "Obviously he has changed his mind since our conversation, which he is at total liberty to do. I hope he'll continue to play somewhere, because his performances last season showed he still has plenty to offer."
Rob Lee has made 43 appearances for Wycombe Wanderers since joining them after a brief and unsuccessful spell with Oldham Athletic in 2005.
