Peterborough United have beaten a host of clubs to secure the services of Woking goalkeeper Shwan Jalal. They have signed the former Tottenham Hotspur shot-stopper for an undisclosed fee with Jahal penning a two-and-a-half year contract.

The 23-year-old, born in Baghdad, is an England non-league international and has been outstanding for Woking this term.

Jahal was highly rated during his youth days at Tottenham Hotspur, but a knee injury saw him drop out of favour under David Pleat. Subsequently he was allowed to join up with Woking.
