Oldham fail in Yorke bid

Oldham have failed in their bid to sign Dwight Yorke. They were one of several English clubs to make enquiries about the Trinidad & Tobago skipper.

The problem being is that Yorke was contracted to Sydney FC when the January transfer window closed, therefore he will not be eligible to play for anyone else until after the World Cup finals.

Dwight has been offered the chance to train with Manchester United and Oldham would have been the perfect opportunity for first team match action.
