Nottingham Forest to name new manager in the summer?

Nottingham Forest have confirmed that Ian McParland and Frank Barlow will continue as joint caretaker managers of the club "until further notice". The pair took over the caretaker roles after the "mutual departure" of Gary Megson from The City Ground.

Nottingham Forest chairman Nigel Doughty has indicated that it is unlikely a new manager will be appointed before the summer.

Barlow who took up Nottingham Forest's offer of the Assistant Manager position days after Walsall lost 5-0 away to Colchester last season says he is not interested in the job permanently. McParland has not made his intentions public and could wait to see the outcome of results before declaring his interest.

This decision by the Chairman could be the acknowledgement that Nottingham Forest will are not aiming to be challenging for the Play-Offs this season.
