After making his debut in Rochdale's 5-0 thumping of MK Dons last weekend, Rory Prendergast wants his new side to win points at Walsall. Speaking to www.rochdaleafc.co.uk he said:

"It was a great feeling to beat MK Dons but that is now history and we've got to focus on doing the same to Walsall. Despite the difference in league positions we'll go there full of confidence, looking to turn them over and I fully believe we can.

We showed last weekend what a good footballing team we are and Walsall will be aware of this. We won't be frightened or intimidated at all and we'll go there looking for 3 points."

Prendergast who signed an 18-month contract with the club marked his debut with a goa last weekl. www.rochdaleafc.co.uk then asked him about his first impressions of the club.

"It's a great club and I'm delighted I came here. Keith and Flicker have been very good to me since I arrived and I just hope they get the job permanently. The attitude and enthusiasm they show every day rubs off on the lads and even though not everybody can play come 3 o'clock on Saturday nobody is excluded. This creates a really good spirit amongst us all and I really enjoy coming to work.

The fact we won 5-0 last weekend can only help but we need to carry on this good work and get ourselves away from the dangerzone. Once we've done this we can regroup in the summer and look to build again for next year and set ourselves a target of promotion. I still harbour ambitions to play at the highest level possible and hopefully I can get back to League One with Rochdale."
