Leeds United allowed to sign three players?

Leeds United have been told they can bring in three new players despite being under a transfer embargo since May 4th. They have been given the go-ahead because they only have 17 professional players registered with the rest of there squad being made up of youth teamers. The Football League are only in a position to block new signings when a club have 20 or more professional players.

Although the final say will still be with administrators who will provide the funds to pay wages and bills until the ownership dispute is resolved.

Meanwhile, the club has been put up for sale with a deadline for offers at Monday 17.00. Under Football League rules a club cannot start the season while in administration because it casts doubt over if they can fulfill a complete season of fixtures.
