Bury manager wants blood injury re-think

Bury manager Chris Casper wants a re-think in the game's rules about blood injuries.

On Saturday, Bury and Casper were without defender Paul Scott for 10 minutes during the 2-1 defeat at Swindon Town. Bury's medical staff could not stop the defender's lip bleeding.

After the game Casper said: "He's had it stitched but we couldn't stop the flow of blood. It's a bad rule for me because you can get away with a bit of blood and I really can't see a problem. Everybody gets tested and a player wouldn't come off with a cut on their leg so we could do with a bit more common sense really."

Meanwhile ex-Walsall striker Andy Bishop should return for Saturday's FA Cup showdown with Chester City at the weekend. The following Tuesday Bury entertain League Two leaders, Walsall.
