Bury add another League One scalp
Last updated : 07 October 2009 By Andy Van Hagen
After beating Walsall on penalties in the first round, League Two Bury piled further misery on Tranmere boss John Barnes by coming from behind to dump Tranmere Rovers out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
Tranmere took the lead inside four minutes when Craig Curran's shot slipped through Wayne Brown's hands but Bury hit back when Dave Worrall rounded Luke Daniels and tapped in on 54 minutes.
Bury snatched victory with 9 minutes to go when Jones tucked in Tom Elliott's cut-back.
There was no Michael Ricketts in the Tranmere squad and Chris Shuker was on the bench as John Barnes rested and made changes following a massive 5-0 weekend reverse at Millwall.
