Bennett eyes Forest promotion

After the 1-1 draw with Gillingham over the weekend ex Walsall defender Julian Bennett insisted that his new club Nottingham Forest have the best squad in League One and are now finally starting to show it.

'We are starting to show the kind of standards that are going to be needed to put together a promotion push next season. We are unbeaten in the last four and if we carry on that kind of form next season, we are not going to have a problem at all.We have the best squad and the best team in the league. It is just a question of getting the points on the board.'

Bennett should probably remember that end of season mid-table form is not always a good indicator of next seasons form. Walsall won the last five games last season and were expected to do quite well this season however that has not been the case.

During the 1-1 draw with Gillingham Bennett scored a early own goal. He later put this at the back of his mind as he went on to pick up the man of the match award for his home town club
