Akinfenwa set to join Swindon

Last updated : 02 July 2007 By Andy Van Hagen
Despite not meeting a deadline to pay £900,000 to their creditors. Swindon have agreed to sign former Swansea striker Adebayo Akinfenwa.

The 25-year-old striker has agreed a one-year contract with the League One new boys and will have a medical before putting ink to paper.

Akinfenwa rejecting a one-year contract extention at the Liberty Stadium saying he felt Swansea's contract offer to him showed a lack of appreciation towards him.

Akinfenwa joined Swansea from Torquay in the summer of 2005 and scored 21 goals in 75 appearances. He's also had spells with Barry Town, Boston, Leyton Orient, Rushden & Diamonds, Doncaster and Torquay.
