Administrators Sack League One Manager

Stockport County's administrators have made manager Jim Gannon redundant along with his assistant Peter Ward.

The Hatters were placed into administration at the end of April and were deducted 10 points in line with Football League rules as they did not get relegated.

Gannon is a long time servant at Edgeley Park and played 383 times for the club before joining as first team manager in 2005. He has been a huge success guiding the club into League One and securing safety on shoe-string budgets.

It is a surprising decision by the administrators given that in February this year, he rejected a chance to become Brighton's new manager.
