Walsall 0-2 Bradford- Match Report

Bantams march on as Saddlers fall

Goals either side of half-time saw in-form Bradford register a 2-0 victory which condemned Walsall to their first defeat in five games.

City had been the more aggressive side from the start and it needed some brave defending to keep them out, Saddlers skipper Andy Butler pulling off a great block to deny Mark Yeates in the 37th minute.

But the Bantams kept up the pressure and took the lead a minute from half-time, dangerous winger Kyel Reid picking the ball up 30 yards out and hammering an unstoppable rising drive past home goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell.

And the Saddlers were vitually doomed before they could start a fightback when Bradford grabbed a second two minutes into the second half, Rory McArdle lifting a long ball over the home defence for James Hanson to burst through and convert his fifth of the season

Walsall tried to get back into the game but Paul Downing and Ashley Hemmings volleyed off target, leaving the Bantams to celebrate their third successive win and extend their unbeaten run to seven games.
