Kilmarnock the destiantion as MK Dons and Walsall look set to miss out on Preston North Ends Skora

Last updated : 29 January 2006 By Andy Van Hagen
Kilmarnock are now favourites to sign 24 year old Eric Skora from Preston North End. The player has been told he can leave Preston and although showing initial desire to join the Saddlers, Kilmarnock now look set to secure his signiture. Eric left Walsall back in December after his loan spell was cut short by injury.

Eric has been a big hit during both of his loans spells away from Peston. Firstly he joined Kilmarock back in 2004 and then he joined ourselves in November 2005. The Preston fans however never took to him.

Skora has been offered a two and a half year deal with the Scottish Premier League side and has undergone a medical over the weekend.

Although Walsall have since signed similar role players, these have been loan signings. If Walsall were to sign Eric then this would be a sign of long term team building rather than short term fixes.

It could be that Walsall are unwilling to take a risk on the player who has such a terrible injury record. Sixty four starts and fourteen substitute appearences spread over five seasons speaks for itself.  Especially when the player has only made ten starts since August 2004! Last season Skora suffered cruciate ligament damage.Injuries have seriously hampered his spell in England. The player has undoubted quality and if he could put the injury nightmare behind him he would be an asset for any team.

MK Dons showed interest in signing him and were rumoured to be preparing a £50,000 bid for the player whose contract runs out in July.
